How the Uniform Bank works
Good uniform stays in use and local families spend less. You do not need to bring an item in order to request something your child needs.
Local people donate
Families pass on clean, good-quality branded uniform their children have outgrown.
We prepare it
We check, clean and iron donations, carrying out small repairs where possible.
Families request items
Tell us the school, item and size you need. There is no need to explain your circumstances.
We arrange collection
If the item is available, we will arrange collection or let you know about the next pop-up.

How to keep uniform costs down
Children grow quickly, but a few simple choices can make school uniform last longer and reduce the amount you need to buy new.
Check the Uniform Bank first
Many donated items have had very little wear and are still in excellent condition.
Only buy branded items when required
Plain shirts, trousers, skirts, socks and some PE items can often be bought more cheaply elsewhere.
Allow a little room for growth
Where appropriate, choosing a slightly larger size can reduce replacements during the school year.
Name everything clearly
Labelled uniform is far more likely to be returned if it is left at school or taken home by mistake.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about requesting, donating and collecting school uniform.
Do I need to donate uniform before I can request something?
No. Please request the uniform your child needs whether or not you have anything to donate.
Does the uniform cost anything?
Pre-loved uniform supplied by the Crofton Uniform Bank is free. Everything depends on the donations and sizes currently available.
What if you do not currently have my child’s size?
Please still contact us. Stock changes throughout the year and we can let you know if a suitable item becomes available.
Do I need to explain why I need help?
No. Just tell us the school, item and size. The Uniform Bank exists to help local families reduce costs and reuse good clothing.
Can I leave a donation outside a drop-off address?
Please arrange a time first. This makes sure someone is available to receive the uniform and prevents bags being left outside.
Need uniform or have some to donate?
Send us the school, item and size—or tell us what you would like to donate—and the Crofton Uniform Bank team will get back to you as soon as possible.
